1. Kelly and Nina Biensen

Kelly Biensen current General Manager of Eden Farms, has built this farmer-owned business through hard work and dedication to the ideals of product quality, family farming, and total customer satisfaction. Kelly and Nina successfully manage the Biensen Century Farm passed down from Kelly’s parents.
  3. A 1976 graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in animal Science, Kelly was named the Iowa Outstanding Young Farmer in 1987. Kelly served on the Iowa Pork Producers Board of Directors from 1983-1990, and is a past president of the American Berkshire Association. Currently a member of the Pork Niche Market Working Group Steering Committee, Kelly has also assisted on projects for the National Pork Board, such as the Alternative Production Systems Committee, and the Budget Task Force in 2003. Kelly is a Member of the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce, with service on the Medic (Marshall Economic Development Impact Community) Ag Task Force, State Center Presbyterian Church, and served as coach on four state champion 4-H and FFA livestock judging teams.
  4. Nina Biensen currently serves Eden Farms as CFO. She obtained her BS in 1975 in Animal Science from Iowa State University, a masters followed in 1995 and Nina received her PhD in 1998 from Iowa State University. She has authored 20 papers that have been printed in scientific and popular journals. Nina has served in various capacities on the following boards and trade associations-Iowa/USA Wrestling Association, Iowa Landrace Breeders Association, Iowa Berkshire Breeders Association, Iowa Games Wrestling Commissioner, West Marshall Vocational Advisory Committee, and the National Pork Board Swine Production Systems Animal Behavior/Welfare Committee. She also continues to serve at the State Center Presbyterian Church, with past duties as Sunday school teacher and Deacon Chairperson.  Additionally, Nina is employed by the USDA and works out of the federal building in Des Moines.  Nina is a member of Practical Farmers of Iowa, serves on its board of directors as Treasurer for the group.
