  2. Dan and JoAnn Helgen raise Berkshire pigs for Eden Farms with their four children near Litchfield, Illinois.  Dan has farmed with his father and grandfather, Otto, his whole life. 

  3. He took an interest in raising hogs at a young age when he was asked by his grandfather to nurture sick sows back to health. Dan chose to raise Berkshires for Eden Farms because the breed was known as the best tasting pork available. 

  4. Dan has quickly become a top Berkshire breed producer in the United States and has won several awards from the American Berkshire Association

"Over time, the pork industry took the enjoyment out of eating pork like it used to be. I wanted to raise pork that my family and I would enjoy every time.
